As a Marriage and Family Therapist, James holds graduate degrees in both psychology and theology.  For ten years, he worked with students and faculty at Stanford University where he was a regular lecturer to various groups and graduate schools.  As a non-profit professional, he worked with students, singles and young families, and oversaw the Bay Area's largest Divorce Recovery program.  He has been the Sr VP of Marketing & Business Development for a NYSE company and continues to hold various business interests.

His first love has always been helping people to grow and become the person they want to be.

Following graduate school, James completed over 3000 Internship hours with students and families in the Santa Barbara area, while also serving on the School Attendance Review Board for the local Middle and High Schools.  After licensure, he has maintained an ongoing practice working with adolescents, adults, and families on personal, work, school and relational issues.  As a married father of three, he has experienced the joys and challenges of family life.
